If you have past college experience but was not able to finish your course, you could complete it and get a degree by enrolling in an online school. Most online colleges and universities cater to professional adults who want to transfer their previous credits and get a degree in less time than the regular 4-year program.

Online schooling is not a good option for everyone, so make sure that this kind of learning is the right one for you. To succeed, you have to learn independently. Moreover, as an online student, you must be a competent writer and have high level reading comprehension level since majority of the courses are writing and reading intensive. Those who are not so good at this may be overwhelmed. You need to find an online college or university that is accredited and with a good reputation. You also need to find a program that fits with your schedule.

As a learner, you might consider enrolling in an online institution that accepts a transfer credit. You can retain your original major or you could opt to study something different. Remember that if you have plenty of subject-specific transfer credits, selecting a new major could increase the time it takes for you to earn a degree.
